It's not too late to vaccinate for
H1N1.
District 2 Public Health Departments continue to administer the H1N1
vaccine. Please contact your local health department if you want to
receive the H1N1 influenza vaccine.
H1N1 vaccine is still available through
some health care providers around the state. To search for a
provider that may have vaccine on-hand, go to
http://health.state.ga.us
Put in the zip code of your area and you will see a list of
providers for your area. You should call ahead to make sure that
they have vaccine.
Public Health continues to encourage
these high-risk groups to get vaccinated:
Children and young adults from 2- 24 years of age.
Pregnant women
Caregivers and individuals that live in
the home with children 6 months and younger
Health care workers that provide direct
patient care
Individuals 2 to 64 years of age with
chronic medical conditions
Nasal mist type vaccine is approved for
healthy individuals - those with no chronic medical conditions -
from age 2 to age 49.
The flu shot is recommended for all
persons over the age of 6 months.
