EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS - Points of Dispensing

Currently NO PODs are open

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT POINTS OF DISPENSING (POD)

MEDICAL HISTORY FORM (complete one for each family member)

  WHERE IS THE POD?

  WHY WOULD MEDICINES BE NEEDED?

Points of Dispensing (POD) are facilities that will be used to distribute   medicines or vaccines to residents and visitors in our area in the event of an incident that requires large numbers of people to receive preventive medicines. These are pre-determined facilities with which Public Health has agreements in place to use for this purpose. Facilities have been secured for use in each of our 13-counties. Events that could require the distribution of medicines are disease outbreaks, natural disasters that cause the spread of disease, or terrorist attacks using biological or chemical agents. (see "Why would medicines be needed" above)
